Members of the NCFS receive a complimentary subscription to the North Carolina Folklore Journal. The Journal publishes articles, profiles of traditional artists, and book reviews exploring North Carolina’s traditions, local and emergent. Recent topics include music, intellectual property rights, social media, local trades, lowriders, foodways, dialects, and material culture.
The North Carolina Folklore Journal is published twice a year by the North Carolina Folklore Society. Click here to read an article about 2009 Brown-Hudson award winner Jim Vipperman, featured in the March, 2015 newsletter from our good friends at the North Carolina Folklife Institute.
